Improved Torque Ripple of Switched Reluctance Motors using Sliding Mode Control for Electric Vehicles

This study describes the direct torque control-DTC approach, based on Sliding Mode Control (SMC) technology with chattering reduction, for reducing ripple of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM). The SRM control loop has been given SMC treatment to account low-frequency fluctuations in output. To maintain a consistent motor speed, sliding mode controller modifies value reference current. findings demonstrate that constant is superior PI controllers at lowering motor's ripple, compensating its nonlinear characteristics, and rendering drive insensitive parameter changes. MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation used show how well this performs. performance proposed method demonstrated by three-phase 8/6 pole, 2kW SRM.
